5. This demo gives the user power over all these facets simultaneously -- but that's not the only way to go. Facetmapping is also good when you want to organize your resources in different ways for different users. For example, you could map all the books in a bookstore to various facets, then build special-interest websites that access the dataset of books. A Classical Literary Author site would use only the author facet, a corporate tie-in called "1000 Books for the Fireside" would use a special facet added just for that partnership, and the bookstore's main site would use a combination of major facets.
This emphasizes the need for headings to be placed in hierarchies. If the taxonomies were flat, the special-interest sites wouldn't get much of an interface at all.
